The Howard Hughes Corporation recently broke ground on the construction of Kirby Ice House in The Woodlands—the first location in The Woodlands for the popular Houston patio bar with what will be the longest bar in Texas.
Russ Morgan and Danny Evans, Partners in Kirby Ice House, and Jim Carman, President of the Houston Region for The Howard Hughes Corporation, were among those who marked the recent development milestone by tossing shovelfuls of ice, instead of the traditional dirt, to commemorate the new Kirby Ice House location. Situated at 1700 Lake Robbins Drive, at the northeast intersection of Six Pines Drive and Lake Robbins Drive, across from The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, Kirby Ice House will garner the distinction of featuring the longest bar in Texas, spanning 141 feet.
Designed to be similar in format to the other Kirby Ice House locations in the Greater Houston area, the fan-favorite bar will include over 10,000 square feet of indoor bar space and over 18,000 square feet of backyard space with room for outdoor games, food trucks and events.
“The addition of Kirby Ice House has been highly anticipated in The Woodlands, and its expansive patio bar and fun outdoor atmosphere will bring welcome excitement to The Woodlands Town Center,” said Carman. “Taking advantage of the beautiful setting for which The Woodlands is known, Kirby Ice House will provide indoor/outdoor gathering space where residents and visitors can enjoy outings with friends and coworkers. We particularly can’t wait to experience the atmosphere around the concert season at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion which is located just across the street.”
A variety of draft beers, cocktails, wine, and spirits will be offered within a rustic ambiance that features Texas signage, vintage movie posters, and plenty of seating. Featuring 70 HDTVs and offering 120 taps for beer, the location in The Woodlands will boast Kirby’s largest indoor area, as well as its first indoor/outdoor bar and its most elevated AV/TV package.
The location for Kirby Ice House was thoughtfully selected to offer urban walkability in close proximity to The Woodlands Waterway, Waterway Square, the Pavilion, residences located in Town Center, greenspace, offices, shopping, dining and hospitality.
Kirby Ice House in The Woodlands is anticipated to open this fall.
