Tips for Pavilion Concert-goers

by The Woodlands

The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion outdoor amphitheater is certainly the pride of The Woodlands. This iconic venue for world-class contemporary concerts by some of the biggest acts touring also brings in a wide array of arts, from symphonies to ballets and operas.

When headed out to a concert, be sure to be in the know of the rules, which are designed to keep everyone safe and ensure they enjoy their concert experience.

Some of the top rules to know are:

  • Bag Policy:  Approved bags are those smaller than 8 ½ x 11 inches (the standard size of a sheet of paper), or medically necessary bags and diaper bags. Not allowed are backpacks, camera cases, drawstring bags, or folding chair bags.
  • Snacks:  It’s okay to bring in snacks to the contemporary concerts. Food must be contained in a clear, one-gallon plastic freezer bag and limited to one bag per person – so get your picnic on! No beverages of any kind are allowed, however, you can bring in an empty plastic water bottle or reusable bottle to fill up at the Pavilion’s water stations. An extensive array of beverages including craft beers, wine, and cocktails are offered at the concession stands in North, South, and Lawn plazas throughout the Pavilion.
  • Tickets:  Use caution when purchasing tickets from third-party sites other than Ticketmaster, Live Nation, or The Pavilion’s box office window. Otherwise, The Pavilion cannot guarantee the validity of tickets nor can they issue a refund if the show is canceled.
  • Lawn Chairs:  Sitting on a picnic blanket on the open-air lawn is nice, but relaxing in a chair on the lawn is more comfortable! Chair rentals are offered at most shows for $7 – cash only.
  • What Not To Bring:  Audio/video equipment, professional detachable lens cameras, binoculars, ice chests, laptops and tablets, lawn chairs, selfie sticks, strollers and playpens, large umbrellas, or weapons, just to name a few.
