Get ready to gas up and drive north for The Woodlands Restaurant Week, which kicks off Thursday, Nov. 3 and runs through Friday, Nov. 11.

Participating restaurants will donate a portion of Restaurant Week menu proceeds to the Montgomery County Food Bank.

"There is a minimum $350 donation or their net proceeds, whichever is more," Montgomery County Food bank spokesperson Ashleigh McHenry explains.

"The Woodlands Restaurant Week is a fun and humbling way to start that conversation in a context we can all relate to on some level. When we are choosing between the steak or the seafood with friends or family, we are choosing where to eat, and not ifwe will eat at all. This is a luxury 17 percent of the residents of our county cannot afford," McHenry says. "We hope that the exposure The Woodlands Restaurant Week affords us will encourage our neighbors to want to learn more about food insecurity in our area and contact us to help.”

Currently, 16 restaurants have signed on, but more can still participate by emailing
