The Woodlands is a winter wonderland of holiday fun!

by The Woodlands

There are a few telltale signs that the most wonderful time of the year is upon us in The Woodlands. Christmas lights begin to adorn your neighbors’ yards; your pumpkin spice craving gives way to a peppermint one; and Christmas songs are on an endless loop in your head. This year, we’ve taken the guesswork out of looking for things to do in The Woodlands for Christmas. We compiled a list of some of the most popular holiday events in The Woodlands and checked it twice. From shopping the most spectacular Christmas market Houston has to offer and ice skating at The Woodlands ice rink to attending the Lighting of the Doves Festival and The Woodlands Winter Wonderland, The Woodlands’ events are full of fun and not to be missed this holiday season!

The Woodlands Junior League Holiday Market

At this holiday market, Houston kicks off the season of gifting. You’ll find something for everyone on your list (and maybe something for yourself, too) at The Woodlands Christmas market. There will even be an opportunity to take photos with Santa! Visit the www.jlthewoodlands.org for tickets, vendor information, shopping hours and photo times.

And since it’s even open on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, you can let your kids loose on the rink to burn off that extra sugar energy from all of cookies and pies and treats.

The Woodlands Lighting of the Doves Festival is a long-standing tradition that symbolizes peace during the holidays. Thousands attend The Woodlands light show each year and are filled with holiday spirit as the giant doves are ceremoniously illuminated. The family-friendly festival also includes traditional and international holiday performances, snow play areas, and a live reindeer photo area! Don’t miss Santa’s sleigh ride down The Woodlands Waterway or the incredible fireworks display.

Holly Jolly Jingle

This is one of The Woodlands Christmas events we’re most looking forward to this year! At this free holiday concert, our very talented local students will perform all of your favorite seasonal songs. There’s also a rumor that a certain jolly elf will make an appearance at his favorite holiday celebration and invite you to sing along with him!
