Reminiscing on Lighting of the Doves While Enjoying Final Days of Ice Rink Season

by The Woodlands

It seems like just yesterday that the holidays were upon us. The doves adorned The Woodlands Town Center over Lake Robbins Drive as this photo symbolizes a "Wish You Were Here” moment in The Woodlands.

The Woodlands kicked-off the holiday season with the Lighting of the Doves Festival, a long-standing community tradition which signified the start of the holiday season in the community. Symbolizing peace during the holidays, the ceremonial illumination of the giant doves has attracted thousands of visitors each year.

The Festival included traditional and international performances, showcasing the cultural diversity of The Woodlands and holiday traditions celebrated around the world. Featuring snow play areas, vendor booths, children’s activities and strolling entertainment, the Lighting of the Doves culminated with a special appearance by Santa Claus arriving by sleigh down The Woodlands Waterway™  and a dazzling fireworks display.

The winter days are still here, though. With chilling weather forecasted, enjoy the Ice Rink at The Woodlands Town Center at its new permanent location at 2005 Lake Robbins Drive at the intersection of Six Pines Drive. The Ice Rink is open through Monday, January 16.

The Lighting of the Doves was just celebrated in The Woodlands Town Center. With colder weather planned, there's still an opportunity for ice skating.
